Brothers and sisters, each year the Fourth of July, has become more of the epitome of a summertime holiday complete with best outdoor BBQ cuisine we can muster! Traditionally, the Fourth of July is celebrated to remember the great courage and sacrifice shown by the Patriots who founded our Country.
Today, during the recent worldwide pandemic, we are witnessing a significant downturn in the world economy. Our brothers and sisters who have been negatively impacted by this scourge hope for better times to come, and for the economy to turn. There is serious concern about what is next to come; and there will not be any relief until this pandemic ends. But, taking inspiration from our Nation's patriots who stood together in the face of adversity, we will stand together to face the uncertainty that comes with each day and we will continue to build upon the great foundation that has always been IBEW Local 1049.
On behalf of the Officers, Executive Board, Business Staff, Union Stewards, Office Staff and myself, please accept our best wishes for a safe, healthy and happy Independence Day!
