Election Day is Tuesday Nov. 3rd

In my report in the latest edition of the Union Advocate paper newsletter that you are receiving at your homes, I stated that we live in the greatest democracy in the world. I also mentioned that Americans can change the political climate in our government in just a single day. That is a testament to the power that you hold as an individual union voter.

To that end please get out and vote on Tuesday. Polls are open at 6 am and close at 9 pm. All of us as members of IBEW Local 1049, must project our influence to elect candidates that support us. Please make sure that you read the Union Advocate, and bring it with you when you vote to have the list of our endorsed candidates. I want to make clear to you that we ask them the tough questions, we carefully determine whether or not they are a true friend to labor and our local union. Let us make our presence known that our issues are the ones that matter for us.  Please remember to vote on November 3rd. If you need to find out where to vote, click here.

Also below you will see an endeavor we are taking on with the IBEW Utility Labor Council of NYS. Briefly, the Governors "Reforming the Energy Vision" (REV) initiative as it stands is approaching Climate Change carelessly and lacks no real standards for preserving and growing good union jobs. Please contact your NYS legislator about this. If you need more information please email pguidice@ibew1049.com for the talking points. And this Saturday is the Run for Warriors in Lindenhurst, There is no cost for doing this, our union made a sizable donation so all should feel free to participate.
