As we head into the New Year, I reflect on what has been accomplished this past year; 2023.

We have been through a lot together. We have brought new members into our union through Organizing and growth, and we make the promise we always have; to work hard to improve working lives through the strength of collective bargaining. The staff of local 1049 and the stewards they work with, work hard every hour protecting our agreements.  

Many Local 1049 members have retired this year as well, beginning their next adventure in life, with the promise of a good retirement, with dignity and respect.

We also must remember those brothers and sisters who passed this year, our hearts are with them and their families.  

Finally, I just want share my deepest and most profound gratitude for all of the love and support you have given me and our leadership team throughout this past year and for the continued solidarity together; now and in the future.  

May God bless you and your families with love, happiness and peace for 2024
