On Wednesday, February 5th, IBEW 1049 members working at National Grid sent a strong message in overwhelming support of their union, with 99% of the members in attendance voting in favor of authorizing a strike should a deal not be reached. This includes shift workers who voted Today, February 6th.

Today, Wednesday February 5th, 2025, at 6:00pm, we will be having a National Grid Information meeting at IBEW Local Union 25, 370 Motor Parkway, Hauppauge, NY 11788 for National Grid members only . For all National Grid shift workers: An information meeting will be held on Thursday February 6th at 9:00 am at the Local 1049 Union Hall.

Dear Brothers and Sisters, At the June 11th Executive Board Meeting, Recording Secretary Thomas Dowling announced his resignation, effective June 19, 2024. Brother Dowling has faithfully served our union for over 35 years, contributing significantly in roles such as union steward, governmental affairs leader, and charity advocate. His dedication and commitment to excellence will be greatly missed.

Date January 16, 2024 Members of IBEW Local Union 1049 attended the Electrical Workers Minority Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. We joined over 700 IBEW members from across the country. Our delegation included Business Representative Robin Rodriguez, Director of External Affairs Jerome Bost, Board Member and EWMC Chapter President Anthony Scotto, Member and EWMC Chapter Treasurer Nile Dillon, as well as dedicated members Mary Sullivan and Baron Lyn.

Date: December 30, 2023 As we head into the New Year, I reflect on what has been accomplished this past year; 2023. We have been through a lot together. We have brought new members into our union through Organizing and growth, and we make the promise we always have; to work hard to improve working lives through the strength of collective bargaining. The staff of local 1049 and the stewards they work with, work hard every hour protecting our agreements.

Date: December 18, 2023 This weekend, under the leadership of Business Manager Pat Guidice, IBEW Local Union 1049 volunteer members formed the 2023 Kids Need More Cheer Bus, dedicated to spreading joy and generosity this Christmas season to disadvantaged and sick children on Long Island. This weekend, our union members delivered Santa requested gifts to those children and their families in need.
